My Fun Portrait Session at Nottoway - Laura Tallo Photography

My Fun Portrait Session at Nottoway

I toured Nottoway Plantation with the ladies from Enchanted FairyWare last weekend.   I had an amazing time with Ella and Molly. They looked perfect in their “Marie Antoinette” inspired costumes.  I met their Great-Grandmother Ne’ Ne’ who was a perfect “Steel Magnolia” Southern lady!  Gigi, Tammie, and Kallie were beautiful, funny, and just wonderful.  We walked through a small citrus orchard, under massive oaks, through a maze, and around a fountain. Of course we toured the Plantation Home!

This adventure did have some twists! I had purchased a new SD card. I wanted to be prepared.  Well, about 15 of my images were corrupted- at first.  Some looked like dye had been poured upon them. Others were blocks of color. My computer decided to freeze and spin!  I couldn’t upload the images onto my hard drive.  I edited each one from the card and immediately uploaded to my Smugmug account.  One by one,  I painstakingly uploaded, edited, and saved 113 files!  It was worth it, though.  My heart would have been broken if I would have lost those images.  Nottoway is a stunning setting for portrait photography.

The White Ballroom was my favorite place to shoot inside. The citrus orchard was my favorite place to shoot outside.  I would love to go back.  Here is a slide show depicting our day at Nottoway. If you would like to make plans for a photoshoot there, contact me.
